Betsy Cannella Gets a New Job! (and we are all sad)

Did you know that Summerscape will celebrate its 35th year this summer!  Since 1981, Summerscape has provided a unique opportunity for gifted and talented middle school students to come together each summer to learn and play together.  During that time, there have been many amazing staff members who have helped to guide all of our campers.  Unfortunately one of those wonderful staff members, Betsy Cannella, the residential coordinator for Scape, has taken a position next year that will keep her from being a part of  camp this summer.  We are so excited for the opportunity she has been given and know that she will rock in her new teaching assignment, but we are so very sad that she won't be a part of Scape.
Betsy started with Scape as a residential assistant in 2004.  Betsy was an architecture major, but her experience at camp helped her see that she wanted to teach. She finished her architecture degree and went back to school to gain her teacher certification.  Betsy moved into the position of residential coordinator and has led the Scape residential program for the last seven years.  Her devotion to the program provided amazing new opportunities for our campers.  Betsy's creativity, passion and love for this camp will be missed this summer!
Please join our entire staff in wishing Betsy much luck and joy in her new position.  We won't say good-bye, just see you soon!!
